Since the oral sex workshop is coming next weekend, I thought it would be fun to tell you some origins of the words I will use at the workshop. Hope to see all of you next weekend.

Cunnilingus:  Latin term meaning Vulva-Licker. The Romans wrote about cunnilingus and approved of this form of oral sex.

Blow Job:  This appears to be a newer word as slang in the mid-60s. Prior to this, the term appeared to be more underground.  It may have also grown out of the word "blowoff", which was to blow off steam or to put an end to a frustrating experience.  When a prostitute would give a guy a "blow job", it would help him to blow off steam or to relax him.
